Anne earned her PhD in Biochemistry, Biosphysics, & Structural Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. Her professional focus on science communication began in graduate school when helped found InPrint, a trainee-run science communication group that offers communication support services to the campus community. As a postdoctoral fellow, she developed an HHMI-funded, project-based undergraduate science writing course with Dr. Joe Jez in the Department of Biology at Washington University in St. Louis.
Springboarding off her unique teaching experience with Dr. Jez, Anne now serves as a science communication lecturer for both the Department of Biology and the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences. She has a developed a graduate level science writing course as well as multiple writing, communication, and illustration workshops. She is passionate about empowering students to more effectively communicate their research and ideas to diverse audiences.
