Laura is from Ponce, PR, and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce (BS Biotechnology, 2024). In university, she contributed to a project in a research lab where they aimed to standardize the “Chick Cholliantoic Membrane” (CAM) assay to investigate angiogenesis associated with endometriosis. Laura has always been intrigued by neuroscience and behavior, but it was through her academic journey that she discovered her passion for research. She is particularly drawn to neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders and aspires to contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions within the Latin-American community. Outside academia, Laura likes to swim and participate in Paralympic competitions, watch TV shows, and spend time with her family.
